A beverage brand demanding attention for Filipino culture.

Context: There are the classic sodas like Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Then there are the cultural staples, that are really more like badges of authenticity: Italian soda, Brio, Jamaican soda, Ting, and Mexican soda, Jarritos. Alex, newkid co-founder and proud Filipino, wondered: why don’t Filipinos have one?

Idea: In celebration of the 126th anniversary of Philippine independence, newkid launched its very own soda. HOY! is what Filipinos yell to get each other’s attention. Can’t find you in the house? “HOY!” In a crowded karaoke room? “HOY!” Doing something you shouldn’t? “HOY!” The idea is to shout HOY! to the world to demand attention for Filipino culture.
